Subject: Updating of the MICE Roadmap 2030

We are pleased to inform the members of the Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) Roadmap Technical Working Group (TWG) that the Department of Tourism has successfully engaged the services of Joint – Process Planning And Business Systems, Inc. (JPPBS) as the consultant for the updating of the MICE Roadmap.
As agreed by the TWG, the consultant shall partake the following scope of work:
- Conduct rapid assessments and consultations with focal persons who have thorough knowledge in MICE and relevant institutions necessary for data and information;
- Assess the feasibility and relevance of the roadmap targets and recommend amendments if necessary;
- Review existing MICE statistical sources and recommend a strategy to strengthen MICE data collection;
- Create an inventory of MICE players in the Philippines and assess the impact of COVID-19 in their operations and businesses;
- Study the strategies undertaken by neighboring countries in the Asia and the Pacific for COVID-19 response and recovery;
- Recommend strategies for the recovery and development of the Philippine MICE Industry;
- Identify strategies to further develop MICE tourism as a product;
- Prepare and present the revised roadmap to the MICE Roadmap Technical Working Group (TWG) for review;
- Revise the draft based on the comments and recommendations of the MICE Roadmap TWG and submit the final version to the TWG and the MICE Roadmap Inter-agency Coordinating Group (IACG) Heads, for approval;
- Present the revised MICE Roadmap to the Trade and Industry Development (TID) Updates.
Relatively, to assist JPPBS in achieveing the objectives of the updating, a survey shall be rolled-out for the members of the MICE Roadmap Inter-agency Coordinating Group (IACG) and relevant stakeholders, with the following timeline and survey link:

In this regard, we wish to request for the TWG’s assistance in the following:
- Cascading the survey link to relevant industry stakeholders and players; and
- Accomplishing the survey for the MICE IACG.
In line with this, may we also request for the TWG to attend the meeting scheduled on 08 April 2021, 02:00PM via Zoom, in which the JPPBS will present the result of the MICE-IACG survey and the initial draft of the updates of the roadmap.
The DOT on the other hand shall request the assistance of our regional offices and partner industry associations in disseminating the survey, as well as communicating the survey to the members of the MICE IACG.
