News and Updates

Greetings from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority!

With significant disruptions in the world of work and dramatic changes in the nature of jobs across the globe, there is enormous pressure in the TVET sector to step up its game to ensure that workers remain competitive and provide the means for social inclusion for the underprivileged and marginalized sectors. With the COVID-19 pandemic leading to even more abrupt and wide-scale disruptions, TVET became more crucial given the massive need to skill and upskill the workforce to adapt to these changes.

To this end, TESDA, in partnership with ADB, Bayan Academy, the British Embassy Manila, ILO, PBEd, and the World Bank is organizing the TVET Policy eFora Series  with the theme “Survive, Revive, and Thrive: Transforming TVET towards the New Normal and the Digital Future.” It involves discussions targeting different sectors in TVET, academe, industry, government, and others to exchange views and insights on initiatives, strategies, policies, and programs on technical vocational education and training (TVET) for economic recovery and in preparation of the Filipino workforce to the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

The final and culminating forum of the Series, Web Conference 4, will focus on high-level policy presentations and discussions on TVET for global competitiveness, social inclusion, and economic recovery. it also includes the Philippine Launch of the ASEAN TVET Council as well as a declaration of key policy actions reflecting the results of the eFora Series discussions shall conclude the event.

In this regard, may we respectfully invite you or a representative in the TVET Policy eFora Web Conference 4 on 03 December 2020, 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm via Zoom. You may register via this link: (updated). For more details, please visit (updated). For inquiries, you may contact the Planning Office – PPD at

In view of Typhoon Ulysses which is expected to land tonight in the Philippines and by virtue of the declaration of President Duterte regarding the suspension of work and classes for the next two days, the organizers of PRCTH is postponing the conduct of the conference from November 12-13, 2020 to November 19-20, 2020. This is in anticipation of internet connectivity concerns that may arise because of the typhoon aftermath.

Dear Ms. Aquino:

We are pleased to inform you that the Department of Tourism is conducting the Virtual Philippine Blue Tourism Forum on 09 (updated), 22 and 29 of October 2020.
The Virtual Philippine Blue Tourism Forum is a three-part webinar / virtual forum consisting of panel discussions involving experts from the academe, government agencies, non-government organizations, and industry players to tackle tourism growth in fragile ecosystems and how they affect the communities in a destination.

The theme of the Forum is “Managing Tourism Growth in Fragile Ecosystems: Coastal Destinations in the New Normal Scenario”. The focus is on coastal destinations as the Philippines is an archipelagic nation which has one of the longest coastlines in the world. While the country’s major tourism product is beach holidays, it is also one of the areas prone to suffer from mass tourism, unsustainable development, and poor planning. Moreover, due to the pandemic causing an upheaval in all aspects of tourism travel, it would be good to discuss what health and safety measures are expected in beach and island destinations in the new normal scenario.

In this regard, we are pleased to invite you or your representative to attend the Forum Series. Attached is the tentative Program for your reference. Should you accept this invitation, please register using the following link: Please be advised that the Virtual Forum will be broadcast live via DOT official social media pages.

Should you have any query, your office may coordinate with Ms. Drew Bautista or Atty. Jeri Grantoza at Viber / text +63966670044 or email at

Thank you.

Very truly yours,
