We are pleased to inform you that the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS), National University of Malaysia (UKM), incollaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia(ERIA), are conducting research across the ASEAN Member States on: 'Comprehensive Study on the Implementation of Mutual Recognition Arrangements for Tourism Professionals (MRA-TP)': Enhanced Mechanism for Tourism Professionals'.
The study is expected to provide a comprehensive assessment of the MRA-TP, experiences, and challenges of the 10 ASEAN Member States (AMS) in implementing the MRA-TP, and practical solutions for facilitating the movement of tourism professionals in the region. Part of the study aims to (i) Provide ASEAN policymakers and regulators with a better understanding of the challenges concerning the mobility of ASEAN tourism professionals and recommendations to overcome those challenges and (ii) Identify best practices and innovative solutions to maximize the benefit of the MRA-TP for the ASEAN tourism industry. In line with this, may we request for your assistance in the accomplishment and dissemination of the ASEAN MRA-TP study survey form to the industry organizations and tourism professionals that are members of TIBFI. This survey shall serve as a tool for the comprehensive analysis and recommendations to ASEAN and can be accessed through this link.

In line with the recently approved DOT Memorandum Circular No. 2022-001 on the Revised Interim Guidelines Governing Applications for Accreditation During the State of Calamity Due to COVID-19, the Office of Tourism Standards and Regulation (OTSR) through the Standards Monitoring and Enforcement Division (SMED) is pleased to share with you a copy of the aforementioned issuance.
The revised interim guideline is intended to be consistent with the most recent IATF-EID issuances in relation to the COVID-19 situation, as well as to address accreditation concerns that arose during the implementation of its antecedent. It also specifies the additional documentary requirements for new and renewal applications for various tourism enterprises.
In this regard, we would like to request HRAP's assistance in disseminating the attached Memorandum Circular to all of its members for information and guidance.

The GMM is scheduled together with the 12th TIBFI Webinar entitled "Wanted: Industry-Based Assessors", scheduled at 10 a.m. Our invited speaker, Executive Director of TESDA's Certification Office, Susana Dela Rama, will present the making of a TESDA Assessor and different assessments that can be conducted by an assessor. Reactors from various sectors will give their experiences and thoughts about aspects of the assessments. We hope you can join us in this event too.
